  my cousin told me that they are now using gps for field service.

  does anyone know if they can store more info on people and use them for the wrong reasons?

  usually, i enjoyed the public talk, if the speaker was good but i thought the theocratic ministry was boring!!!.

  the service meeting was just a sales meeting.

  the book studies were simply ridiculous.

  The Service meeting was complete torture for me. I was inactive in field service and just listening to that made me want to get up and leave every week. It was stressed that anyone who didn't preach would not make it into the ''new world.''

  Placing selling old magazines and books was always stressed. Listening to the same sisters week after week give the same presentation finally drove me to completely stop attending the Ministry/service meeting. Calling little kids ''publishers'' made me finally realize that we were just a sales force to place sell literature for the WTS.

  Can Elders who resigned or were demoted ever be reinstated as Elders?

  my cousin and another elder in my congregation were demoted{they were asked to resign} about 5 years ago.

  they both had teens who were disfellowshipped at the same time.

  the reasoning was that,'' if you can't control your own household how can you control members in god's house.

  My cousin and another Elder in my congregation were demoted{they were asked to resign} about 5 years ago. They both had teens who were disfellowshipped at the same time. The reasoning was that,'' if you can't control your own household how can you control members in God's house.'' Both teens moved out and haven't been seen in years. Now it's only the former Elders and their wives living in the same household.

  My question is.....Can either of them ever be asked to be Elders again?

  How many times did we read this passage? We were taught that it was talking about someone who quit or disassociated themselves from the WTS and became an apostate. They somehow made the word ''antichrist'' disappear from its true meaning. ''Apostates'' took on a new meaning. ( They really know how to use smoke and mirrors on its members! )

  How have they explained this? And, how do they get away with explaining that the ''antichrist'' and ''apostate'' are the same person?

  witness thanksgiving!

  lets hear it for witness thanksgiving parties!

  my wife and i got invited to an elder's house thursdayevening for a full turkey dinner with all the fixings.

  there were about 20 others from the congregation.

  I was invited to my aunt's house where they had an early ''book study'' around 4:00 p.m. and dinner right after. I declined because they make fun of my wife who is a non-witness. My wife takes our kids to her mothers home for the usual Thanksgiving dinner. My witness family always remind me the fact that my wife celebrates a pagan holiday.

  They reason that since everyone is off from work, they can all get together on Thanksgiving. What do they serve? They have beef,chicken,and a small turkey. They make sure that it's a small turkey and that it's cut up before it's brought to the table. That way they aren't really celebrating Thanksgiving.

  When my mom and her sisters worked at a factory,they would each receive a turkey for the holiday. What would they do with the turkey? They cooked it the day after Thanksgiving so it wouldn't look like they celebrated a pagan holiday.

  i remember an elder walking in the hall and it was the 1st thing he said to me as he saw me dealing with the sound dept.

  "where is your jacket"!!!!

  How about.............''You can't take your jacket off''.

  I quit going to the ''book study'' about 8 years ago due to the book study conductor telling all the men that we couldn't take our jackets off. He said,''Taking off our jackets shows a lack of respect when you are in Jehovah's house''.

  That day it was around 103 degrees. The family who had the ''book study'' in their home wouldn't put on the central air-conditioner because they were too cheap. It was so hot in the house that a sister who had asthma passed out from the extreem heat in the house. We took her outside because it was cooler there than inside. Finally,the conductor told the brothers that only this time were we permitted to take our jackets off.

  Why would Jehovah need more than 1 or 2 people to communicate his will?

  Has the Governing Body ever explained how they communicate with Jehovah? Or is it,12 men in a room voting on resolutions ? Wouldn't all the resolutions always be 12-0 if Jehovah was really using them?

  Q7) Why do we need to be balanced in doing God's work?

  7) Pursuing God's purpose merits our whole-souled effort. We should never be self-sparing or lazy in doing so. (Hebrews 6: 11, 12) Still, Jehovah does not want us to drive ourselves to exhaustion–physically, mentally, or emotionally. Modestly acknowledging that we cannot accomplish God's work in our own strength glorifies him and also shows balance on our part. (1 Peter 4:11) Jehovah promises to give us the necessary strength to do his will, but we must not push ourselves beyond our limits, trying to do things he does not expect of us. (2 Corinthians 4:7) To keep on serving God without wearing ourselves out, we need to budget our energies.

  Jehovah does not want me to drive myself to exhaustion. What about you........WTS?

  Are you worried that you make everyone attend meetings 3 days a week?

  Don't young children need to be in bed on week nights at a reasonable time?

  Don't you put a burden on your suggested mandatory 10 hours a month in field service?

  Don't you make everyone travel for summer conventions listening to your useless and repetive information?

  Isn't your whole operation just about rules and regulations that drive everyone to exhaustion?

  For all you PETROL & GAS whiners. Stop complaining that it's too expensive!

  here in the uk we're paying over a 1 a litre for regular unleaded fuel, that's about $9 per gallon for my american friends.

  now i'm as aware as anyone that the bulk of my fuel pound goes to the government in duty (or fuel tax) but let's just look at the bottom line cost to you and i as motorists - 1/litre.. just getting the the damn stuff out of the ground is dangerous and expensive, especially at offshore rigs.

  then you have to transport it, refine it and transport it again.
